What a great day at The Rock. Such a great sense of excitement and anticipation.
Sunday morning was a powerful word on Truth & Tradition (you can listen to the sermon online at www.rockag.org under the sermons tab). It is essential for every church, every believer, to be able to separate Truth from tradition so that we place no unnecessary barriers to Christ for our community. The clearer our church family understands Truth the more confidently we can let go of traditions in order to more effectively reach and meet the needs of this generation. Truth is unchanging but many of our traditions (dress, service style & times, organizational structure, priorities emphasized, etc.) have already begun to change and will continue to change to allow us to present Truth more clearly to our community.
We now have over 200 volunteers signed up for Fall Fest! This is a tremendous opportunity for our church family to unite together and "share it." I look forward to welcoming hundreds of guests on to our campus.
In just over one week our mission team will be leaving for Haiti. We will be working with www.missionofhopehaiti.org Anticipation is high and I look forward to a wonderful time serving our Lord through serving people.
Blessings,
Darren
